Backyard party checklist for Connecticut hosts

Backyard parties win when the site is treated like a real venue. Trucks need access, stakes need safe clearance from utilities, and guests need a logical path from parking to the tent. Use this checklist before you lock a date for install.

Direct answer: Access, lawn, and utilities matter as much as the guest list.

Access and parking

Measure gate width and overhead branches for our truck path. Tell us if the tent sits far from the driveway so we can plan carry distance and timing.

Lawn and underground utilities

Irrigation, septic, and buried electric matter for staking. If you are unsure, locate lines before event week. Soft or sloped lawn can change anchoring strategy.

Guest flow and noise

Give guests a clear walk from parking to the tent. If neighbors are close, agree on music end time and where generators can sit.

Weather and backup

Sidewalls, weighting strategy, and a calm rain message on the invite all help. We plan with you so a forecast shift does not feel like a crisis.

Questions

Do you stake every backyard tent?

Often on grass we stake when it is safe and allowed. Hard surfaces may use ballasts instead. Site review decides.
